Our legal fees

Our services encompass a range of activities, including correspondence with clients and the Home Office, legal advice, application assistance, and document review.

  • Where possible, we operate a fixed fee system, which will be agreed in advance before we take up your case and will be dependant on case complexity, and your desired level of service. We will be able to provide a quote for our fixed fee once we have discussed your matter and ascertained the full scope of work and estimated time to be spent. This is to provide you with certainty, and it allows us to concentrate on your case for a successful outcome.
  • Any additional work completed outside the scope of the relevant application submission, such as liaising with external third parties, drafting and preparing Statutory Declarations, witness statements and other documents, and so forth, are likely to incur additional charges in line with our hourly rates, and these charges will be discussed with you prior to being incurred.
  • In some complex cases and we will discuss our fees on an hourly basis. In those cases we will provide a very clear estimate of time and costs, varying based on case complexity, and your desired level of service. We will provide you with an estimate at the outset of your matter; however, this may be subject to change dependant on whether the scope of work is altered and the time spent on the matter. We will update you of the costs incurred throughout your case.
  • Fees relating to Disbursements are not included in our legal fees and might include but are not limited to;
    • VAT;
    • Home Office Application Fees;
    • Immigration Health Surcharge;
    • Citizenship Ceremony Fees;
    • Biometrics Appointment Fees;
    • Certified Translator Fees;
    • Counsel’s Fees; and
    • Court Fees.
  • VAT and Disbursements: Our fees and most disbursements are subject to VAT at the current rate of 20%. Disbursements include a variety of expenses such as Counsel’s fees, Home Office fees, and translation fees. If you currently reside outside of the UK, you will not be charged VAT on our legal fees.
  • Tribunal Hearings: Costs for tribunal hearings vary based on factors like case intricacy and Counsel’s fees, typically ranging from £7,000 to £15,000 for a one-day hearing.
  • Immigration Appeal Hearings: Hourly billing rates apply for appeal hearings, incorporating Counsel’s fees which vary by seniority and typically range from £4,000 to £8,000 for a one-day hearing.

Estimated Timeframe

It is not possible to confirm how long it will take to prepare your application or confirm the Home Office’s processing time in respect of a particular application prior to formal instructions.

However, we will usually provide an estimate based on our understanding of your case, our other clients’ matters or the UKVI published processing times.

Please note that at present, the Home Office allows itself up to 6 months to review and make a decision on an application, and reserves the right to extend this period if necessary.
